Objectives and Goals:
- To offer and maintain a high standard of education
- To identify the academic readiness and social maturity levels of prospective students
- To provide the best possible learning environment
Admission Process:
- The application form will be completed by the parent(s) or legal guardian of the prospective student and returned to the school office.
- An interview and testing date will be scheduled with the Principal and the teacher. The purpose of the interview/testing is for the purpose of assessing the child's academic ability and social needs.
- The parent and child will attend the interview and testing. At this time, the parent or guardian MUST make sure that the following items are in the school's possession:
- Check for Registration and Testing Fee
- Birth Certificate (Children entering preshool, kindergarten, or first grade)
- Last report card, last standardized test scores, or copy of academic transcript
- Copy of immunization record
- Emergency information sheet
- The parent will be contacted after the testing and interview and informed if the child has been accepted. A letter will also be mailed to the parent or guardian.
- Before the child can attend school an up-to-date health record MUST be on file in the school office. Academic and confidential records will have been requested (these may ot be on file for the child to start school, but should be on file shortly after the child begins school).
- Children are accepted into the school on a six (6) week probationary period. At the conclusion of the time period a conference will be held between the parent and teacher/principal. If no problems have occurred during this time the child will be taken off probation and will become a fully enrolled student. This probation may be extended, or the child's attendance may be terminated, by either the parent or the school if it is felt that needs are not being met.
- The principal will report all new students to the Day School Board at the next regular Board meeting. The principal will also report to the Day School Board the status of all probationary students at the end of their probationary period.
Class size is limited to 24 students. If the class is full a waiting list will be established. The Day School Board may vote to increase the enrollment in a particular class for special circumstances.
